New Eurovision Song Contest for EU member states?
Toine Manders, one of the Dutch members of the European Parliament, is working on an alternative for the Eurovision Song Contest. The new song festival should strengthen the European feeling. Only EU member states will be allowed to take part and songs should be performed in the national language.

Toine Manders gets the support of Henk Krol and former Eurovision Song Contest participant Sandra Reemer. Several investors and television broadcasters would already have shown interest. Manders is currently lobbying for money in the European Parliament.The new EU-Song Contest should strengthen the European feeling. "It will be more clear, cause only EU member states will take part. Now there are countries taking part of which people don't even know where they are. Also the voting procedure will be different and not get out of hand like now," it's said. The results will be decided by televoting and a professional jury.

Did promo tours in Belgium get rewarded with points?

In the last month preceding the Eurovision Song Contest, seven of this year's participants visited Belgium to promote their Eurovision Song Contest entry. Edsilia Rombley (the Netherlands), Evridiki (Cyprus), Hayko (Armenia) and Kenan Doğulu (Turkey) are the ones who also received points from Belgium in the end.

At the end of April, Belgovision.com and 12Points.tv organised a promo tour for Cypriot representative Evridiki and Dutch representative Edsilia Rombley in Belgium, which offered them publicity in different ways. Both Eurovision ladies could count on the Belgian support in the semifinal. Belgium gave 10 points to Edsilia and 5 points to Evridiki. However, that was not sufficient to qualify for the final.

Serbia: EBU's Winner Tour

The Winner Tour as promised and agreed by the EBU and several broadcasters is about to take place.
Marija Serifovic will visit Europe from Denmark to Greece and here are the dates for the promo tour.

18th of May - Sweden (Malmö & Stockholm)

Θερμή υποδοχή στη νικήτρια της Γιουροβίζιον

20.000 Kόκκινες Kαρδιές στο Bελιγράδι

Περισσότεροι από 20.000 άνθρωποι συγκεντρώθηκαν χθες βράδυ στο κέντρο του Βελιγραδίου για να υποδεχτούν την 23χρονη Μαρίζα Σερίφοβιτς, που κέρδισε τον 52ο διαγωνισμό της Γιουροβίζιον.

Το πλήθος, οι περισσότεροι νέοι που φορούσαν μπλουζάκια με μια κόκκινη καρδιά, σύμβολο του τραγουδιού "Molitva" (Προσευχή), άρχισαν από νωρίς το απόγευμα να συγκεντρώνονται μπροστά στο δημαρχείο της πόλης.

Τη νεαρή τραγουδίστρια υποδέχτηκε ο Αλεξάνταρ Τίγιανιτς, διευθυντής της Κρατικής Σερβικής Τηλεόρασης, που οργάνωσε και υποστήριξε την αποστολή στο Ελσίνκι.

Η Μαρίζα Σερίφοβιτς στη συνέχεια ερμήνευσε πολλές φορές το τραγούδι της μπροστά στο πλήθος σε μια γιορταστική βραδιά που έκλεισε με πυροτεχνήματα.

Η Σερβία με 268 βαθμούς κέρδισε το διαγωνισμό τραγουδιού, με δεύτερη την Ουκρανία (235) και τρίτη τη Ρωσία (207), στη διάρκεια του τελικού, στον οποίο κυριάρχησαν οι χώρες της κεντρικής και ανατολικής Ευρώπης.

Είναι η πρώτη νίκη της Σερβίας στο διαγωνισμό, την οποία ψήφισαν όλες οι χώρες της πρώην Γιουγκοσλαβίας.

Τηλεθέαση 90%

Για μια ακόμοα χρονιά τον διαγωνισμό της eurovision παρακολούθησε όλη η Ελλάδα. Τα ποσοστά τηλεθέασης στην Ελλάδα άγγιξαν το 90%.
